Thriller Research

Thriller Research- 31/01/2011

Within the research for the thriller the group underwent today, we looked at a variety of different openings including thriller openings with credits. From looking at each of the openings we looked at in the lesson, I found out what a thriller actually is and the conventions that make up a thriller. The conventions that make up a thriller are: tension, quick shots, and the effect the thriller has on the audience, sound, editing, camera and mise-en-scene. From viewing each of these thriller openings, I believe that it gave me a clear understanding of what a thriller is and how I can put what I learnt in today's lesson to practise in my own thriller opening. In conclusion to what I have learnt in today’s lesson, I believe that it will be extremely beneficial to me when creating my thriller as before today’s lesson I did not know what a thriller was, the conventions that make up a thriller and how I could make it possible to make, edit and produce one.
